Few doctrines shape the Christian faith more than Christology, the doctrine of Christ. What we believe about Jesus determines how we understand salvation, Scripture, the Trinity, discipleship, and ultimately the very nature of God Himself. Christology is not a side category of theology—it is the blazing center. We must get Jesus right. If we get Jesus wrong, we get everything else wrong. For this reason, the opening lines of Hebrews carry weight and authority that demand our attention:

We started Overflow Church in our living room with 10 people(one in a womb) 10 years ago. We had no money and knew nobody in the city we were called to. We didn't have much. What we did have was a word from the Lord, and that gave us hope! Here are 10 things I've learned. Some of these things might appear as whining, but they are not. They are part of owning this glorious field God has called us to steward.

Today our video doorbell went off, so I answered it digitally because I thought the guy was a salesman. Plus, we were about to leave. He said he was from the Seventh Day Adventist Church. I quickly made my way to the door. I have always been a little unsure about the 7DA, so it was a way to have a quick conversation with someone who has some different views and give me a peek into their beliefs. I had read a lot and heard some things but no discussions with an actual person.
